Washington Episcopal School (WES) seeks a Director of Extended Day and Classroom Support person. This is a full-time salaried exempt position with benefits, with a work schedule of 10 am - 6pm.
Extended Day is offered for grades PK3 – Grade 8 after school Monday through Thursday from 3:30 to 6:00 and Friday from 2:30 – 6:00. The mission of the program is to provide a joyful and engaging environment for students as they spend time outside on the playground, enjoy snacks, activities, and games and work on assignments in a safe, enriching extended day experience for students at WES.
When not directing Extended Day, the successful candidate will be supporting teachers in classrooms and with duties outside of the classroom.
Responsibilities
Develop and manage the Extended Day program
Plan and prepare daily activities and opportunities that encourage joy, curiosity, and exploration
Facilitate study halls, provide academic support, and reinforce time management and study skills
Manage and maintain Extended Day data management software (CampBrain)
Provide effective communication with parents, both in person and digitally
Manage a team of assistants and coordinate their hours
Assist as a substitute teacher and with recess, lunch and other duties as needed
Manage a program budget; order supplies and snack food as needed

Requirements
Bachelor’s degree
