RESPONSIBILITIES: The Purchasing Agent is responsible for crucial purchasing functions, including vendor and contract management, process ownership, project management, and system administration. Customer service is critical, as this position is responsible for assisting internal departments in utilizing vendor contracts and exploring new supplier contacts and contracts. This position is also responsible for providing support regarding policy, procedures, and best methods to ensure solid financial controls and prudent stewardship of Culver's resources. System administration skills are critical as the position must utilize, support, train, and administer several purchasing systems, including Veracross, online travel booking, reporting tools, Microsoft Excel, etc.
In addition to regular duties, the Purchasing Agent is expected to participate in various clubs and activities, coach athletic teams, perform student supervisory and chaperone duties, and engage in other duties as may be assigned by the proper authorities.
REQUIREMENTS: A Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or three years of equivalent experience in a similar position is required. Certified Purchasing Manager, C.P.M., or Certified Public Purchasing Officer, C.P.P.O, or is working towards the designation is desired.
The successful candidate will possess effective verbal and written communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills; must be able to build strong working relationships with all internal and external customers, and must have above-average computer literacy using Microsoft Office products.
