LOWER SCHOOL STUDENT SUPPORT PreK-1st GRADE-Part Time Fall 2022
This position will report directly to the Head of Lower School. This part-time hourly position will be 20 hours a week, commence August 29, 2022 and end on December 16, 2022.
Major Responsibilities:
- Provide support for all students as needed in the classroom including one on one, small and whole group support
- Provide ongoing support to children who are experiencing social/emotional struggles
- Help implement behavior support plans in conjunction with the student support team and classroom teachers
- Observe and collect data, and conduct assessments to help inform student support and planning
- Review and maintain student records for students who need social/emotional and behavioral support
- Liaison with LS Director of Student Support, student support team and classroom teachers to support children who are struggling
- Support the embedding of the Social, Emotional, and Ethical Development (SEED) and Positive Education programs in classrooms

- Have a minimum of one year experience in an early childhood setting
- Have a Bachelor's degree
- Have knowledge and/or training in cultural competency
- Possess excellent speaking writing, and organizational skills

- Possess an advanced degree in an area relevant to the position
- Have experience in counseling, social work or a related field
- Understand and apply trauma-informed approaches to their work
