The Charles E. Smith Jewish Day School Upper School seeks highly responsible individuals who enjoy working with students in grades 6-12 to join our team as daily substitute teachers. Compensation is set at $20/teaching hour.
This great job for positive people interested in being a part of a wonderful learning community, and who have experience working with students in an educational environment. Content knowledge in core learning areas (Math, Science, English, History, Hebrew, Judaic, Jewish History, Arts, STEM, Spanish, Arabic) preferred.
The ideal applicant will be available for pre-arranged and last minute assignments for part or whole work days.

Ability to work with students across middle and high school, ranging from grades 6 to grade 12

Qualifications:
Bachelors degree required, Degree in Education or related field, preferred
Experience working with youth in formal or experiential learning setting, preferred
Ability to offer instruction in a wide variety of disciplines, including any of the following, preferred: History, English, Math, Science, Jewish Text, Jewish History, Hebrew, Arabic, Spanish, Arts, STEM
Faculty may be asked to perform their work responsibilities on campus and/or at home. In both settings, the teacher is required to maintain a professional environment.
While on campus, classes may be operating either in person or in an alternative setting. Teachers are expected to be present and accessible for the agreed upon hours regardless of the setting.
