Job Summary:
The Recruitment and Retention Manager is responsible for managing activities related to the employee lifecycle of BB&N employees. This person coordinates with leadership in programs and departments to lead an inclusive hiring process for faculty and staff, gathers and analyzes data to understand and help improve the employee experience, and manages the employee offboarding process. The Recruitment and Retention Manager works closely with the Director of Human Resources to establish and implement policies and procedures that are consistent with State and Federal law and BB&N's core values. The Recruitment and Retention Manager also works collaboratively with the Benefits, Leave, and HRIS Specialist to help ensure the smooth functioning of the Human Resources department as it works to support a positive employee experience.
Skills and Competencies:
The ideal candidate will be experienced in human resources and a school setting. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
In addition, the candidate will demonstrate the following:
Competence in the use of HRIS and data management systems (ADP and Veracross preferred), Google Suite, Microsoft Suite, and an expert in Excel/GoogleSheets
Excellent communication (written & verbal) and interpersonal skills
Excellent organizational & data analysis skills
General knowledge of Massachusetts employment law, including benefits and leave laws (PFML and FMLA).

Essential Functions and Key Objectives:
Recruiting and Hiring
Partners with the Director of Human Resources and members of the BB&N community to understand and execute BB&N’s talent strategy, particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, and retention, consistent with the School’s strategic plan and budget;
Manages the recruitment/talent acquisition process, which includes interviewing and hiring of qualified job applicants, collaborating with hiring managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings, and managing the electronic systems used for recruiting and hiring.
Works collaboratively with the DEIG Office to coordinate inclusive hiring practices.
Prioritizes the recruiting network to attract a diverse pool of candidates.
Designs and implements strategies and protocols to build the capacity of all departments to interview, hire, and retain a broadly diverse workforce;
Analyzes trends in BB&N’s hiring practices; research and support initiatives to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent.
Ensures reference checks and all employee background checks (including but not limited to CORI, SORI, Fingerprinting, Social Media) are completed and recorded for new employees, school volunteers, and 3rd party vendors/contractors consistent with BB&N policy.
Manages the School’s I-9 verification process.
Drafts offer letters and completes Hiring forms/Employee Status change forms for approval.
Manages New Hire Orientation.
Maintains position description catalogue and system for BB&N, ensuring an updated description is developed, maintained, and organized for each position.
Employee Experience and Retention
Partners with the Director of Human Resources to develop and implement a strategy to collect and analyze employee data at orientation, during employment (stay interviews and employee climate surveys), and at separation (exit interviews). Uses this data to suggest activities to improve the employee experience.
Partners with the Director of Human Resources to develop and implements performance review program for BB&N employees.
Manages HR records, including an array of confidential employee forms
Manages annual employment contracts/letter creation and distribution through ADP.
Manages the onboarding and offboarding of all employees, including summer camp and seasonal coaches.
Maintains knowledge of all employee benefits programs, such as group health, flexible spending accounts, dental and vision, accident and disability, life insurance, 403(b), and wellness benefits.
Maintains an active presence in the life of the School, including circulating between and among buildings, departments, and campuses.
