Compensation for full-time employees includes a 403(b) plan with up to a 10% match of salary and other competitive benefits offerings. Benefits offered to eligible employees include health & dental insurance; commuter benefits; long-term disability insurance, and more.
Reports to: Director of Human Resources
Job Summary:
BB&N is looking to hire a Benefits, Employee Leave, and HRIS Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for managing employee benefits, including employee education, benefit enrollment and data analysis. This position will also educate employees about BB&N sponsored short-term and long-term leaves (such as FMLA and PFML) and administer these leaves. Finally, this position will serve as the HRIS system expert, ensuring the system is updated, as necessary, and facilitating data exchange with Payroll. This position manages sensitive and confidential information and must do that with considerable discretion. This position also maintains an active presence in the life of the school and its employees, regularly moving between campuses and programs.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication and organization skills as well as a basic understanding of benefits administration within a Human Resources department.
Skills and Competencies:
The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in employee benefits, leave, and using HRIS systems.. A Bachelor's degree is preferred. In addition, the ideal candidate will have the following skills, competencies, and experience:
Demonstrated expertise in using an HRIS system, ideally ADP.
Demonstrated expertise in using Google Suite or Microsoft Office, including Google Sheets, Slides or Excel and Power Point.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Good organizational skills
Professional discretion with confidential information
Essential Functions and Key Objectives:
Manage employee benefit enrollments, including during the onboarding process for new employees, qualifying life events, and open enrollment.
Administer COBRA with our 3rd party provider.
Participate in the benefits renewal process each year, providing necessary information to help ensure a smooth renewal process.
Create and manage a health and wellness program for BB&N employees.
Reconcile employee benefit invoices.
Manage the posting of benefits information for BB&N employees.
Serve as the employee point of contact for BB&N’s 403(b) retirement plan and serve on the Retirement Plan Committee.
Manage BB&N’s employee leave program, including educating employees, administering employee leaves, and communicating as necessary with internal and external constituents.
Manage BB&N’s workers compensation program, including processing workers compensation documents, and participating on BB&N’s Safety Committee.
Serve as the HRIS system expert, proactively keeping updated on system changes, serving as the primary point of contact with ADP support, and developing its use for employees.
Manage personnel files in compliance with state and federal regulations.
Process employment verification requests.
Serve as the primary point of contact for unemployment claims.
Special projects and other responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Human Resources.
