The Summer Programs Director at Baylor School will play a pivotal role in leading, directing, and overseeing all aspects of the summer camps. This position involves collaborating with team members to plan, market, and execute both summer and winter camps. The Director will be responsible for establishing and managing the camp's operating budget, coordinating camp schedules, and developing a catalog of program offerings. Moreover, they will evaluate program needs and make necessary revisions to ensure alignment with the camp's objectives.
A key aspect of this role involves managing office and program administration tasks, including supply procurement, parent communication, and event planning. The Director will maintain program records, implement school procedures, and ensure compliance with safety guidelines. Additionally, they will engage with faculty and staff to create a cohesive and mission-aligned program.
The Director will oversee the hiring and training of seasonal staff, manage payroll, and create daily schedules for various camp activities. They will also supervise staff for before/aftercare offerings, monitor counselor-camper interactions, and collaborate with the Facilities Director of Operations for facility usage. An essential responsibility includes conducting annual camp evaluations and performing any other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in Education, Recreation, or related field
Previous experience in a camp leadership role
Strong organizational and budget management skills
