JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Business Manager provides support to the Assistant Dean of Finance and Administration in the College of Pharmacy and manages the financial and administrative activities for Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. This position directs and manages the administrations of programs, finances, personnel, research/training, committees, and other administrative functions within the College of Pharmacy. This position is responsible for budget development, management and control of all designated funds, state appropriated funds, grants, restricted accounts, development accounts, etc. This person reviews and approves expenditures, within budgetary limits, for the accounts assigned.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides financial and managerial expertise for business operations, and management of budgetary and financial functions in the College of Pharmacy.
- Manage and approve departmental expenditures, determine sources of funding, and maintain appropriate records.
- Manages grant/contract including purchases, accounts payable/receivable, and federal/state/sponsor audits.
- Approves University P-Card/Travel Card expenses and travel requests/reimbursements in alignment with policies and approved budgets.
- Oversees the supervision of personnel, which includes work allocation, training, promotion, enforcement of internal procedures and controls, and problem resolution; evaluates performance and makes recommendations for personnel actions; motivates employees to achieve peak productivity and performance.
- Manage the Human Resource functions for all assigned programs.
- Manages payroll functions of the college including, special pay, pay funding changes, biweekly and monthly time approval.
- Serves as liaison between HR and hiring manager to facilitate application review, interview process, and documentation of selected candidates.
- Manages the responsibility for processing college changes in faculty promotion and tenure status.
- Manages hiring, evaluation, training and terminations of College faculty and staff.
- Manages direction of workflow and supervision of departmental clerical and support employees.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
