The Staff Accountant is responsible for the processing of general ledger activities, various reconciliations, debit system coordination, and assisting with preparation information for the School’s various reporting requirements.
This role is full-time and is eligible for paid time off and benefits.
Duties and responsibilities:
Maintains general ledger, including cash receipts, credit card receipts, journal entries, and various GL integrations.
Assists with year-end closing in accounting system (MS Dynamics GP).
Prepares various year-end reconciliations and assists in annual external audit, including fixed assets.
Manages the reconciliations and maintenance of debit card system (Odin) and credit cards.
Assists with coordinating the student enrollment contract process and timeline.
Responsible for the billing of outside events and any other miscellaneous billing.
Responsible for the food service weekly catering report and monthly reconciliations of the external food service activities.
Responsible for the maintenance of various enrollment databases and enrollment reporting.
Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
Knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.
Minimum of 3 years’ of accounting experience required
3 years’ of experience with accounting software
Proficiency in Excel and Word
Database management skills
Strong customer service orientation with internal and external constituents
Ability to handle confidential and difficult situations with diplomacy, professionalism, and tact
Strong attention to detail and highly organized
Ability to work effectively with various constituencies and office team members
