Business Manager II (Sr. Manager of Finance and Operations)

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Business Manager II (Sr. Manager of Finance and Operations) for the Institute for Families. This position reports to the Managing Director and works closely with units through Rutgers, including the School of Social Work's Business Services team. The successful applicant will be able to work independently, have a high degree of motivation and accountability, and possess specialized knowledge in finance and business administration, particularly in practices related to state and federal contracts.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Oversees the Institute's administrative capacity to pursue its mission and effectively execute deliverables for more than $25M in award commitments.
Manages financial, operational, and human resources functions supporting a team of 70+ full-time, 25+ part-time, and 100 consultants delivering statewide services through four different office locations.
Works closely with PIs on strategies related to financial accounting, sustainability, and development in IFF's business practices by supporting budgeting and procurement processes, overseeing facility operations, monitoring personnel actions, and guiding a team of professionals providing administrative support.
Responsible for achieving optimal operational efficiencies while adhering to university and sponsor policies and providing responsive support to meet existing award commitments, satisfy stakeholder expectations, and retain an engaged, high-performing team of diverse professionals.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as management, finance, business, human resources; or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
A minimum of 5 years, of progressively responsible financial, human resources, and/or operational management experience in an organization supported by multiple funding streams.

Specific knowledge of Excel and the MS office suite, Oracle, PeopleSoft, Cloud Financials.
Must be able to work on Windows based and computers and quickly learn the navigation of University applied software systems.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Must be able to travel to statewide meetings to support activities across IFF's four sites and meet with stakeholders at community-based locations as needed.
