As a Systems Technician reporting to the Director of IT and Information Systems at Westmark School, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Director of IT and Information Systems in the effective and efficient operation of the school's technological infrastructure. You will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and providing technical support for various hardware, software, and network systems used by faculty, staff, and students. Salary Offered: $70,000 - $80,000 dependent upon experience
Essential Responsibilities
Technical Support: Respond promptly and professionally to help desk requests and technical inquiries from faculty, staff, and students related to hardware, software, networking, and other IT systems.
Hardware and Software Management: Manage distribution, inventory, repairs, and storage related to the school’s 1:1 iPad program.
Account Management: Create and manage user accounts and profiles, as well as email groups in Westmark’s email, LMS, and other systems.
Communication: Maintain timely and clear communication with all end users, including students, staff, faculty, and members of the Technology Department, including Educational Technology.
User Training and Support: Provide training and support to end-users on various software applications, ensuring they can utilize technology effectively in their roles.
System Upgrades and Deployment: Assist in the planning and execution of IT system upgrades, installations, and deployments while minimizing disruption to school operations.
Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve technical issues with hardware, software, and other IT systems, escalating complex problems to the appropriate personnel when necessary.
Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of IT procedures, technical configurations, and troubleshooting guides to facilitate knowledge sharing and future reference.
Inventory Management: Manage IT inventory, including procurement, tracking, and organization of hardware, software licenses, and peripherals.
Collaboration: Collaborate with the IT team to develop and implement IT strategies, projects, and initiatives that align with the school's goals and objectives.
Network Management: Assist in monitoring and maintaining the school's network infrastructure, ensuring its stability and security. Troubleshoot network issues and collaborate with the IT team to implement improvements.
Security Management: Assist in the implementation and enforcement of IT security policies and procedures to safeguard sensitive data and protect against cyber threats.
Qualifications
Education: An Associate degree, or a High School diploma and 3+ years of experience in a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a technical support or systems administration role, preferably in a K-12 educational or similar environment.
Independent school experience preferred.
Background in working with individuals with learning differences or willingness to learn about language-based processing disorders preferred.
Technical Proficiency: Solid knowledge of hardware, software, and networking technologies commonly used in educational institutions (ex: tablets/iPads, laptops, interactive whiteboards, SIS and LMS databases, AD, Azure, Google Suite/Admin, MDMs). Proficiency with iOS, macOS and Microsoft Windows operating systems is essential.
