The Assistant Controller is an integral part of the Business Office responsible for coordinating and assisting in the preparation of financial reports, such as income statements, balance sheets, and analysis of historical and future income and expenses, with a primary focus on the school’s auxiliary programs: before/after care, enrichment, summer programs, dining services, school store, canteen, squash club, swim club, facility rentals, Horizons and EA parent association.
What You'll Do
Maintain and communicate the school's internal control structure as it relates to the policies, procedures, and documentation of all accounting and financial reporting activities.
Ensure timely and accurate revenue and expense recording for the school’s various auxiliary programs.
Prepare monthly financial reports, including variance analysis, that summarize and forecast school auxiliary program activities and the financial position, based on past, present, and expected performance. Work with program directors concerning budget performance.
Reconciliation of annual fund, endowment, living trust contributions with the Advancement Office.
Assist in the preparation of all surveys and reports for the school’s trade organizations (ie – NAIS, NBOA, PAISBOA, etc.)
Partner with the Controller to prepare schedules and work papers for the annual audits and tax returns (school and retirement plans)
Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
