Terms of Employment:
This is an non-exempt position. Competitive compensation commensurate with experience. Benefits package includes, but is not limited to, medical, dental, vision, basic life insurance, long-term disability, and a retirement plan (with up to 7% employer match). The regular workday is 7:30 am–4:00 pm. Occasional early morning, evening, and some weekend work is required.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
This position provides an educational environment that is safe, stimulating, and developmentally appropriate in which children have the opportunity to develop cognitive, social, emotional, and physical skills. This position is responsible for the implementation of grade-level appropriate curriculum by utilizing the teaching tools administered by the Head of School (HoS) and Lower Division Director.
This position includes but is not limited to the following duties:
Follows all Social Services regulations, particularly supervision (visual observation) ratios in collaboration with the Lower Division Director.
Plans grade-appropriate curriculum (SEL, language, mathematics, science, art, music, social studies, and movement) with Lower Division Director and the Director of Student Wellness.
Co-teaches with the grade-level teacher.
Provides in-person supervision and instruction on school days when students are physically on campus.
Conducts all teaching and learning activities associated with this position in the event of a required shift to remote learning.
Creates a yearly lesson plan, maintains a plan book, and implements lesson plans on a daily basis in collaboration with Lower Division Director and cooperating teachers.
Establishes effective classroom management and student discipline systems.
Regularly assesses students and maintains assessment documentation.
Works in collaboration with assistant, and other lead teachers in ECD.
Plans and leads developmentally appropriate SEL and character education activities for students which align with BHS mission and core values.
Supervises students during recesses, lunches, and before/after school as assigned by the administration.
Participates in Depth of Study—teacher professional development—groups (and other meetings).
Cooperates with Lower Division Director and HoS to ensure effective function of department and delivery of education to students.
Communicates regularly and effectively with parents as partners in students’ education.
Keeps current with subject matters.
Analyzes data to inform instruction.
Follows guidelines for fulfillment of duties as described in the Employee Handbook.
Actively participates in school enrollment management initiatives.
Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Early Childhood Certificate or 12 Early Childhood Units (required)
Bachelor of Arts/Science degree (required)
One year of teaching experience in a licensed early childhood facility (required)
K–8 Teaching Credential (preferred)
Ability to provide proof of COVID vaccination (or exemption)
Live Scan and TB clearance
In harmony with the teachings of Christian Science
