The Hopkins School Business Office is seeking a Finance and Accounting Associate to work with the Finance and Accounting Manager and Chief Financial and Operating Officer in all areas relating to finance and financial accounting and reporting, including:
Duties and Responsibilities
Assisting in the development, implementation, and maintenance of systems to ensure adherence to GAAP and the maintenance of internal controls that ensure accurate and timely financial statements
Addressing deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities, including general ledger maintenance, treasury management, student billing, contribution and pledge accounting, accounts payable, fixed asset accounting, account analysis, reconciliation, and financial reporting
Ensuring compliance with various regulatory agencies and working with the Finance and Accounting Manager in year-end audit preparation, budgeting, and forecast activities
Experience
1-3 years of experience preferred
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, or a related field
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
Strong interpersonal communication skills
Exceptional attention to detail and dedication to accuracy and reliability
Excellent analytical skills and proven ability to solve complex problems
Proficiency with database and information systems as well as Microsoft Excel
Ability to maintain absolute confidentiality and discretion
