JOB SUMMARY:
The Advancement Services Specialist, under the direction of the Director of Advancement, will:
Organize,update, and maintain the Raiser’s Edge donor management system
Manage weekly donor receipts and acknowledgements of gifts and pledges
Conduct, analyze, and report on prospect research
Assist in the planning and execution of Office of Advancement events
JOB DESCRIPTION:
As part of the Advancement Team, the Advancement Services Specialist will play a key role in assisting to build and maintain relationships with the Awty community in order to support philanthropic efforts and community engagement. The Advancement Offices depends on the Advancement Services Specialist for expertise in working with Raiser’s Edge donor management system, thanking and acknowledging donors, writing and running database queries and generating reports, as well as office and event support and coordination.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential job functions may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Process charitable gifts and pledges received by the school including data entry, receipt/thank you letters, invoicing quarterly pledges, and gift reporting
Maintain the donor database and provide necessary reports to Advancement Staff and others as necessary.
Prospect research including data mining, reports, and prospect/portfolio management
Support special events and community building efforts across the department and the school.
Engage constituents in person, on the telephone, and in written communication in efforts to increase connectivity with the school.
Maintaining effective relations within the community at large
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of and experience with donor management system, Raiser’s Edge or similar
Experience in records maintenance and knowledge of systems queries and reports
Experience in prospect research and prospect management
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to work nights and weekends as required for events and/or projects
Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills
Ability to lead projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Excellent time management
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree. In lieu of a degree, consideration will be given to an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge of donor search tools such as DonorSearch, iWave, and the internet
Knowledge of the Microsoft Suite of office products, including experience with mail merges and spreadsheets
3-5 years of experience with Raiser’s Edge
3-5 years of experience in prospect research and management
Excellent hard copy and electronic organization and filing skills
Ability to work both independently and as a part of small, collaborative team
Ability to interact and community with individuals on all levels and from various diverse backgrounds, through writing and in person
