This is a full-time position within the Lower School reporting to the Head of Lower School. The Associate teacher will be assigned to a single grade within the Lower School.
Major Responsibilities:
Assist in the implementation of grade level programs related to curriculum and student life
Assist in the creation of grade level and classroom communities
Provide whole, small group, and individualized instruction, nurture wellbeing, motivate and challenge students
Assume lead responsibility for the classroom when the lead teacher is absent
Participate in professional meetings, professional development, and family conferences as needed
Assume duties as assigned
Support a sense of community, social responsibility, and an appreciation and respect for individual and cultural differences
Work closely and cooperatively with teaching colleagues and the school administrative team
Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, kindness, enthusiasm, a sense of humor, willingness to learn and grow professionally, a cooperative spirit and a commitment to teamwork
