Position Summary: The instructional coach and/ CDI teacher will be a critical member of the lower school faculty. As an instructional coach (not limited to the area of technology integration) you will work as a colleague with classroom teachers in all programs (French and International) to support student learning and best practices in teaching. You will provide personalized, 1:1 support based on the goals and identified needs of individual teachers and teams who are interested in refining their craft. As part of this role you will also be designing instruction in the Creation, Design & Innovation Lab, an enrichment class that delves into design thinking and emerging technologies. The CDI Teacher also directs KRAMS, a student elective course in video and audio broadcast journalism. The CDI Teacher will report to the Head of the Lower School and be part of a schoolwide instructional coaching team working closely with the Director of Educational Technology.
Education and Experience:
Required:
Bachelor's Degree in Education (or related field)
Previous classroom experience
Preferred:
Master's Degree
Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience
Previous coaching or teacher leadership experience
Deep knowledge of instructional strategies and well-versed in current best practices
Excellent communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills
Ability to design and deliver customized professional development to teachers
Google Certified Educator Level 1 and 2 or the intention to pursue certifications
Google Certified Coach or the intention to pursue certification
Experience with online learning and the use of a Learning Management System
Experience working in both Mac and PC platforms and iPads
Experience coaching teachers and working with teams
Fluent in English and one of the school’s principal languages (Spanish or French)
Experience working in a maker space and/or design program
Experience in video and audio production
Passionate about STEAM education and innovation
Strong understanding of curriculum design and cross curricular integration of technology standards
