Summary: The Technology Support Specialist maintains a large variety of technology used by students, faculty, staff, and parents, and provides direct end-user support to them. The position reports to the Director of IT and is part of the collaborative five-person IT department. The position will be responsible for designated technology systems and will help ensure continuity of all IT services. The position works normal school hours (7:45 - 4:45) on campus and occasional evening or weekend hours. This is a full-time, 12 month, exempt position. This position might be called on to teach a technology-related course within the School.
Responsibilities:
Respond efficiently to support requests via ticketing system, email, phone, and in-person.
Diagnose, resolve, or escalate problems with any IT equipment including MacBooks, PCs, Chromebooks, iPads, printers, phones, projectors, cabling, WiFi, etc.
Configure and deploy computers for faculty, staff, and students
Support and train users as needed in a large variety of hardware and software
Install and maintain AV equipment including projectors, TVs, sound systems
Support audio-visual needs of various school events including occasional evening or weekend events, both virtual and in-person
Create, maintain, and follow documentation for various IT software and hardware systems, procedures, and policies
Assist with the administration of various school software systems including the SIS, LMS, productivity suite, and general educational software.

Skills and abilities:
Experience supporting technology in a school environment or in an organization serving children and parents.
Experience in configuration and troubleshooting of computer hardware and operating systems including MacOS, Windows, Chrome OS, and iOS. (CompTIA A+ certification or equivalent preferred).
Experience in Google suite of apps: Gmail, Drive, Calendar, Meet, etc.
Experience with Student Information Systems (Veracross preferred) and Learning Management Systems (Canvas preferred).
Experience with software distribution and mobile device management platforms.
Basic Active Directory and Microsoft Windows Server administration experience (knowledge of AD Sites & Services, IIS, DNS, DHCP, etc. preferred).
Knowledge of ethernet switches and wireless access points (Aruba preferred), telephone system administration (Mitel preferred) and print servers and printer management (PaperCut preferred).
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree preferred

Physical Requirements: Daily desk work includes significant amounts of telephone and computer time as well as mobility around the entire campus. This includes frequent walking inside and outside, managing stairs as a part of daily routines, as well as responding to injury/illness incidents; night-time and weekend duty responsibilities.
