Thisfirst-level Business Manager role supports a cluster of departments and programs in the Student Development division. This position reports directly to the Director of the Shared Business Services department. Under general direction, the Business Manager ensuresfinancial, human resources, budget, and procurement processes and transactions are completed accurately and timely. This position will supervise and train one employee and two studentworkers.Â
Job DutiesÂ
In Workday, submitjob requisitions, promotions, compensation changes, and terminationsfor faculty, staff, and student employees and follow-through to completion.Â
Heavy emphasis on developing written reports using tools such as Workday, Excel, Word, and Emails.Â
Take a leading role in the annual budgeting and merit allocations processes.Â
Schedule quarterly meetings with departments to review personnel and operational expenses. Prepare budget revisionsand transaction corrections, as requiredÂ
Understand and communicate university performance evaluationprocesses and timelines.Â
Audit financial, human resources, and procurement transactions to ensure accuracy.Â
Evaluate, analyze, and research financial and personnel related data.Â
Provide excellent customer servicewhen communicating with employees, students, departments, and campus partners and respondthoroughly to all issues and questions.Â
Process student meal plans, Billiken Bucks, and bonus flex.Â
Review/approve staff and student travel requests, expense reports,purchases, and reimbursements.Â
Oversee daily collection of checks, cash, and credit cards andmake bank deposits.Â
Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, business/finance administration, budgeting, procurement, and human resources practices.Â
Advanced proficiency in Workday, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Google applicationsand/or ability to quickly learn.Â
Ability to demonstrate the appropriate sense of urgency and meet deadlines.Â
Ability to manage high volume workload. Accuracy and attention to detail a must.Â
Solid report writing skills. Must be able to analyze financial and personnel data and create written reports to describe results of research.Â
Ability to conceptualize, analyze and diagnose problems and plan tasks to resolve issues.Â
Project management skills and ability to delegate appropriately.Â
Ability to plan and lead division training sessions.Â
Ability to maintain confidentiality.Â
Compensation:
Range: $50,300 - $60,000
Commensurate with experience.
Minimum QualificationsÂ
Bachelors degree with two (2) to three (3) years of experience in Finance, Budgeting, Human Resources, or Business Administration or equivalent combination. Must have previous supervisory experience. Advanced credentials such as a Master of Business Administration are preferred.Â
