Description:
The UT Institute for Advanced Materials and Manufacturing (IAMM) seeks a full-time Administrative Professional 2 to support the IAMM as the Manager of IAMM Programming and Safety.
This position supports the management and operations of the UT Institute for Advanced Materials & Manufacturing (IAMM) and leads the day-to-day activities of IAMM programming, acting as the primary point of contact for stakeholders and is responsible for the interpretation and handling of requests from research affiliates. The position coordinates activities between IAMM and the 24 home departments of IAMM research affiliates, which span 5 colleges and 5 institutes & centers at UT. This includes assisting with space policy & space usage reporting, identifying and engaging research affiliates in external funding opportunities, and preparing budget strategy recommendations to the director. The manager is responsible for identifying new avenues to increase the visibility of IAMM, including organizing seminars, training events and other outreach opportunities on behalf of the Institute. The position will also be responsible for laboratory safety, which includes lab commissioning/decommissioning, acting as a representative on campus lab safety committees, developing and providing laboratory safety programming, and acting as a liaison with EHS on behalf of IAMM related buildings. The manager works closely with the IAMM director to improve and support communication strategies to ensure faculty are engaged & aware of IAMM's goals.
