Graduation Specialist (Student Services Associate II)

The Graduate School at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville invites applications for the position of Graduation Specialist. The primary purpose of this position is to maintain accurate records of graduate students, evaluate them for graduation, and certify the completion of graduation requirements through the degree audit process.
Duties & Responsibilities
The person filling the Graduation Specialist position is tasked with the following duties:
- Receive, evaluate, and approve various Graduate School forms (Admission to Candidacy, Leave of Absence, Reinstatement, Late Change of Registration, Overload Request, Thesis/Doctoral Committee forms, etc.)
- Ensure that detailed and accurate records of graduate students are maintained as students are approved for graduation each semester.
- Receive and process requests to verify enrollment and/or degree completion.
- Update various records and enter data in Banner (committee information, transfer credits, previous degrees, candidacy status, etc.) in a timely manner.
- Review and process graduation applications in Banner.
- Effectively communicate with students, faculty, and staff advising them of options, policies and procedures, and proper routes for problem resolution.
The person in this position ensures accuracy and compliance with university regulations related to degree requirements. This position is an integral part of the Graduate School team, assisting with various special events (such as orientation, hooding, etc.), and performing other duties as assigned.
