Preschool English Language Arts Teacher for the 2023-24 School Year

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
? BA or equivalent in Preschool or Elementary Education (or related field).
? Native-speaker proficiency in English
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
? At least three years of teaching experience in a preschool or elementary school setting.
? Masters degree
? International and/or independent school experience.
APPLICANTS SHOULD:
- Possess excellent teaching skills appropriate for children in preschool.
- Demonstrate sound knowledge of interactive methodologies and technology integration
- Be well versed in current research and best practices in teaching and learning.
- Be able to integrate varied activities that develop language, motor, and cognitive skills into the daily educational experience of students.
- Foster cross-cultural understanding within the classroom and curriculum
- Be able to create a positive learning environment that is rich in structure, developmentally appropriate and academically rigorous.
- Demonstrate understanding of, and commitment to, childhood social, emotional and intellectual development within an international school setting.
- Be passionate about early childhood education
- Understand how to differentiate instruction for a group of native and non-native english speakers
- Demonstrate an understanding of effective strategies to build oral language for non-native speakers
THE ROLE: A teacher at The Awty International School is expected, but not limited to, meet the following expectations:
- Effectively teach the preschool English program, including undertaking appropriate lesson preparation and assessing and evaluating students as necessary.
- Collaborate with other preschool teachers who are teaching in the same grade.
- Collaborate with other teachers on the team in unit, lesson and event planning.
- Attend and positively contribute to grade, faculty, division and all-school meetings as necessary.
- Perform snack, lunch, recess and other supervision duties as required.
- Contribute to the wider life of the school in areas such as special projects and presentations, field trips and service learning activities as well as attending curriculum nights, open houses, prospective parent meetings, and other school and parent events.
