Job Description
The ideal candidate is passionate about education; willing to collaborate; flexible; and is focused on supporting a diverse and inclusive culture for our school community. Most importantly, the ideal candidate has experience in creating repeatable and sustainable processes that will support the school now and, in the future, to ensure effective, efficient, and accurate financial information and administrative operations.
General Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Enter invoices and employee reimbursements into the AP software
Match purchase orders and invoices
Maintain vendor files
Collect and electronically file W-9s for all service provider vendors
Manage and issue annual 1099s to vendors
Answer faculty/staff and vendor questions in a timely manner
Run vendor checks (weekly) and mail
Follow established procedures for processing receipts, cash, etc. including the twice weekly updating of the cash log and bank activity spreadsheets
Implement and maintain the procedures for daily deposits, including the scanning of checks
Manage the school’s credit card, including approval, substantiation of business purpose of the expense, receipts, etc. and prepare journal entry for posting to the G/L monthly
Set-up and maintain student billing accounts, as well as performing collections on past due accounts
Respond promptly to all parent inquiries
Reconcile the AR sub-ledger to the G/L, including the reconciliation of tuition revenue by grade headcount
Assist with the month end closing process including the reconciliation of various balance sheet accounts, as assigned
Assist with the end of the year independent audit
All other projects/tasks as assigned by the CFO
Ideal candidates will possess these required skills:
Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field; accounting preferred
2-3 years’ experience of full cycle accounts payable
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Must be detail oriented, highly organized, possess a high level of accuracy, and ability to multitask
Must possess excellent interpersonal communication, problem-solving and organizational skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Preferred skills:
Proficient in DocuSign
Experience with Blackbaud FE&NXT software
