Director of Innovation, Creativity and Entrepreneurship

The Awty International School seeks a Director of Innovation, Creativity and Entrepreneurship. This PK3-12th grade position reports to the Chief Academic Officer. We seek an individual who can work in a coach-like relationship with teachers, across the curriculum (humanities and sciences), programs (French and international), and grade levels, to support innovation, creativity and entrepreneurship in curriculum, practice and programs. We seek a visionary thinker and a practical, grounded practitioner who can support authentic and expansive opportunities for students, support colleagues in experimentation and innovation as we make our way in this rapidly evolving world, and who will be a thought partner with school leaders and all open to exploration.
The successful candidate will:
Develop knowledge and competence across the Awty curriculum to identify and support opportunities for interdisciplinary, innovative and entrepreneurial learning
Articulate the value of innovation, creativity and entrepreneurial thinking for our Awty graduates and future generations
Support, coach, train, and assist teachers in developing, experimenting with, and delivering interdisciplinary and innovative learning opportunities
Engage outside speakers/presenters/practitioners in Awty’s innovation and creativity program and entrepreneurial experiences
Design and integrate entrepreneurial thinking into the Awty curriculum and student experiences
Coordinate with our Director of Experiential Learning in support of authentic student experiences
Assist and advise other staff in developing activities that encourage innovation, creativity and entrepreneurial opportunities
Assist, as requested or as opportunities arise, in seeking funding for special innovation programs
Advise faculty sponsors and oversee budgets for innovative extracurricular activities and clubs such as Robotics, Chess Team, Odyssey of the Mind, Girls Who Code, etc.
Be a thought partner for academic leaders and the Head of School in innovation, creativity and entrepreneurships
Oversee the operation of the Chevron Maker Space
Implement our commitment to Chevron for sharing the Maker Space and supporting teacher development and innovation outside of Awty
Assist colleagues in using the new Campus Center, which was designed to support innovation and creativity
Collaborate with the Director of Educational Technology
Required qualifications:
Bachelor's degree
Teaching and leadership experiences that demonstrate success in the articulated job responsibilities
Preferred qualifications:
Advanced degree
Demonstrated experience in innovation, interdisciplinary education, teacher coaching and support
Demonstrated experience in entrepreneurial engagement and partnerships
Second language fluency (especially desired is French or Spanish, but all language capacity is valued)
Experience in a PK-12, multi-program international school.
