Westerly School Business & Operations Coordinator - full-time (30 hours/week) plus benefits
Our School Westerly School is an independent, non-sectarian Kindergarten through 8th grade school focused on whole child education. Founded in 1991, by a group of parents, Westerly remains the only independent school in Long Beach and currently enrolls 185 students.
Position Description Westerly School is seeking a dynamic and experienced individual who is responsible for the systems and services which support the Business Office, including facilities, human resources, and general campus operations. The person in this role works closely with the Director of Finance and Facilities in the maintenance of the accounting records, producing financial statements, reconciling credit card statements and general ledger accounts, as well as projects that support the general campus operations. This is a full-time (30 hrs/week), non-exempt position, and reports to the Director of Finance and Facilities.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Perform accounts receivable and accounts payable functions such as student billing, processing tuition payments, and invoice processing
Process payroll and assist with on-boarding for new employees
Support the return-to-school process with classroom supply, textbook, and emergency supply ordering and inventory
Assist with the annual audit process in data gathering and organization
Coordinate all on-site visits by contractors, as directed. This includes, but is not limited to, contractor research, scheduling, and follow-up of work completion.
Research and procure items as needed for campus operations
Coordinate annual auction projects to ensure timely delivery of product including research, vendor searches, and work follow-up
Organize COVID testing, as needed, including maintaining test inventory, distribution, and sending tests to lab for processing
Assist in the student reenrollment process
Support the front office with reception functions as needed
Perform other duties, as assigned by the Director of Finance & Facilities and/or the Head of School

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree preferred
Minimum of 3 - 5 years of relevant experience
Must have QuickBooks experience
Experience with Microsoft Office and Google Suites
Experience working at a school and AP/AR experience a plus
