As a security first organization, Technology Delivery Services (TDS) is part of the Information Technology Services (ITS) Department. The TDS teams include Information Security, Planning (architecture and PMO), Application Development, HR & Payroll Development, Infrastructure, and Client Services teams. Apply your information security and management skills and experience to an exciting role leading a team of seasoned security practitioners supporting multiple business units. Responsibilities include ensuring consistent, effective execution of information security activities and collaborative support to units as business partners.
Your role will include providing direction to staff, reviewing deliverables (including risk assessments, supplier security reviews, and security plans), and maintaining dashboards, and communication materials. Your expertise supports the team in recommending changes to department policies and practices to enhance information security, identifying (and prioritizing) risks and strategies to address, resulting in the implementation of controls to meet UC security policy.
As manager of security liaisons for multiple departments and units, oversees and executes information security responsibilities defined in campus policies and standards. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Timely and consistent delivery of security services to in-scope customers
Reviewing and updating risk assessments and risk treatment plans
Maintaining and updating inventory of institutional information, IT assets, and vendor supported services
Reviewing contracts for new and existing vendors and ensuring they meet security requirements
Managing the implementation of security controls
Managing requests for exceptions to information security policies and standards
Supporting information security incident response and remediation
Hiring, management, and development of IT security professionals providing consulting services to multiple lines of business
Monitoring security email lists, responding to security announcements, and reporting on status of security requests
Reviewing access rights
Participates in security training and keeps current with industry best practices to ensure software is not exposing the organization to unnecessary Keeps up-to-date of new developments in software vulnerabilities and prevention.
At least 8 years of relevant work experience
At least 2 years of experience supervising IT security personnel.
Ability to follow department processes and procedures.
Interpersonal skills sufficient to work effectively with both technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization.
Demonstrated skills applying security controls to computer software and hardware.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Demonstrated problem-solving skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
Basic skill at reading and interpreting security logs.
Knowledge of computer hardware, software and network security issues and approaches.
Ability to write technical documentation in a clear and concise manner.
Experience with risk assessment processes.
Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
CISM or other industry security management certification (Preferred)
CISSP or other industry cybersecurity certification (Preferred)
SALARY AND BENEFITS
Salary: $133,000 - $155,000 annual commensurate with skills/experience.
MSP - IT SCRTY SUPV 2 - Salary Grade 25
