Wichita Collegiate School, a thriving Independent School, located in Wichita, KS, is adding a Chief Financial Officer to our Leadership Team. Our CFO will support the strategic vision of our School while managing the daily financial and business affairs, including human resources, facilities maintenance, information technology, security, and compliance. Our CFO will report directly to the Head of the School and will be a member of the Senior Leadership Team.

Our CFO will be responsible for aligning our school’s mission with forward-thinking financial and business operations. Our CFO will skillfully combine their executive acumen, financial aptitude, leadership capabilities, and understanding of our educational mission to ensure the sustainability of our school. A skilled communicator, our CFO will thoughtfully apply their experience to proactively propose strategic and operational improvements and will demonstrate the ability to translate complex financial concepts to all community members, including finance and non-finance staff. Above all else, our CFO will be an ambassador for Wichita Collegiate School, enthusiastically celebrating our achievements with our community.
As the leader of the Finance and Operations Team, the CFO will oversee the work of the following staff members: Director of Information Technology, Director of Human Resources, Director of Facilities Management, and General Administration Staff.
Primary Responsibilities of the CFO will Include:
Assist the HOS with the development and implementation of institutional strategic plans.
Lead the overall management of the school, including the efficient development and implementation of its temporary and long-term programs.
Accountable financial planning and analysis of the school's finances.
Manage regular financial reporting and operational controls.
Oversee the Tuition Index Program and effectively communicate it to parents.
Keep the Head of School and the Board informed as to the financial condition of the school.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor of Science degree in Business, Finance, or a related field. An advanced degree is preferred. The ideal candidate will also have ten or more years of diverse experience in a combination of the following areas: financial and operations functions, including finance and business reporting and analysis, general administration, strategic planning, human resources, and facilities administration. Non-profit cultural organization experience is desirable.
