The Hun School of Princeton, a college preparatory boarding/day school located in Princeton, New Jersey, seeks a collaborative and student-centered person as its next Resident Life Administrative Assistant. The Administrative Assistant provides support in the daily operation of the busy Resident Life Office and assists in making the resident life office a warm, supportive and inviting place for members of the resident community.
Responsibilities Overview:
- Assisting with student, faculty, parent and guardian relations in the Resident Life Office including high volumes of correspondence, attending to phones, and the logistics of office coordination;
- Assisting with management of schedules and calendar coordination for students, and resident faculty members;
- Recording, maintaining, and reporting student attendance, permission documentation and records;
- Prepare and maintain confidential reports, student information, records, and files;
- Work closely with the Health Services Office to assist in transporting students to medical appointments and physicals;
- Assisting with organization, support, and support collaboration of housing assignments, and events;
- Coordinate and work closely, with all members of the community;
- Plan and complete job duties with minimal supervisory direction, including utilization of appropriate judgment;
- Perform tasks which are supportive in nature to the essential functions of the job, which may be altered or redesigned as necessary.
Qualifications:
- An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in any field preferred;
- Previous work as an office assistant in an academic institution or a similar role that requires strong organizational and interpersonal skills;
- A love for working with young people and a commitment to a diverse and inclusive community;
- Positive, optimistic, and supportive attitude;
- Personal qualities including resilience, approachability, and kindness;
- Ability to work Monday through Friday from 9:15 am to 5:45pm with the capacity to periodically work beyond and outside the typical workday during the academic year;
- Strong technical capacity - computer skills required with Google Workspace/Suite programs as well as, data entry into a variety of computer programs and proficiency in usage of MAC computers;
- Ability to multitask with demonstrated communication, organization, and management skills;
- Must be detailed oriented as well as prompt, thorough, and accurate in maintaining details;
- Spirited and visible engagement in the broad opportunities offered by a lively school culture;
- Commitment to good judgment, tact, sensitivity, and discretion in the handling of confidential information, materials, and situations;
- Required passage of State of New Jersey Criminal Background check.
