Reporting to the Chief, Communications and Public Health Officer, and working under the direction of the Associate Director, Digital Marketing and Communications, the Digital Content Strategist uses a variety of digital media tools to execute communication strategies in support of school initiatives, goals, and priorities; aids in the production of digital fundraising materials; and executes the school’s social media platforms and initiatives. The Digital Content Strategist collaborates closely with the Associate Director, Communications and Marketing, to produce digital communications with strategic value while ensuring compliance with key institutional messaging and branding guidelines.
This position provides direct support to the Office of Communications in its collaboration with various departments including but not limited to the Offices of Academics, Admission, and Alumnae and Development (A&D), Athletics, and Head of School. This position will also provide content creation, management, and support to the Porter’s Center for Global Leadership (PCGL). The Digital Content Strategist also supports special school projects and events, including but not limited to: move-in days, commencement and graduation, giving days, auxiliary programs, and other fundraising campaign initiatives.
Designs high-quality, branded content in support of school efforts. Works with colleagues to create and enhance webpages within the Miss Porter’s School website, including but not limited to: academics, admission, A&D, PCGL, and student activities. A digital portfolio submission is required.
Develops and implements creative content in support of communications needs, including but not limited to social media, print collateral, and The Bulletin school magazine.
Develops a robust online presence, working with the Associate Director, Digital Marketing and Communications, to develop protocol for social media outlets including but not limited to: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube.
Coordinates with the appropriate teams to plan, design, and execute social media campaigns to increase engagement with target audiences (e.g., parents, families, prospective students).
Works to increase the visibility of Miss Porter’s School through the telling of stories and the promotion of events and activities targeted to audiences using appropriate venues and mediums, including video.
Tracks engagement through website analytics, email campaign metrics, and social media analytics.
Keeps abreast of industry trends and makes recommendations for implementing new tools to strengthen Miss Porter’s School’s digital presence.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
Takes photographs at school events as well as capturing day-to-day campus life to enhance storytelling efforts on social media, the admission blog, email marketing, and print pieces.
Collaborates with other offices and departments to create high-quality, visually appealing content for the school’s blog, Porter’s Voices.

Bachelor’s degree and 3-5 years of professional experience, with demonstrated success producing and/or editing high-quality digital content.
Experience with web design, production, and email marketing. Knowledge of and experience with social media and email marketing analytics (such as Google Analytics).
Full knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, and Illustrator. Knowledge of HTML.
Proven knowledge of varied writing styles and lengths for a varied media (e.g., social media vs. web vs. print).
Must be highly organized and show meticulous attention to detail. Excellent writing skills and ability to meet deadlines.
Ability to work independently as well as in collaborative teams.
Video production and editing experience.
Independent school experience is a plus but not required.
