Primary Responsibility:
The Director of Communications is an integral member of Le Jardin Academy’s Advancement
Team and reports directly to the Executive Director of Advancement. This individual is
responsible for the planning, execution, and management of internal and external
communication, including: digital & print communications/collateral, marketing/advertising,
website, branding, social media, media relations, and crisis communications. This person will
develop and implement communication strategies involving Le Jardin Academy’s website, email
communications, and social media, and come with a strong knowledge of best practices in
digital communications. This individual works in concert with the Executive Director of
Advancement and Management Team to ensure effective, coordinated, timely, and strategic
messaging.

Requirements and Skills:
? Bachelor's degree required in related field, advanced degree preferred
? Five or more years of demonstrated professional experience in communications
? 3+ years managing social media profiles on behalf of an organization, including
Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and other channels
? Supervisory experience required
? Interest in and understanding of education broadly and independent schools specifically,
previous school experience preferred
? Proven strategic and creative communications and marketing thinker
? Demonstrated planning, project management, and organizational skills
? Excellent, passionate, and collaborative institutional storyteller
? Strong experience with videography production and multimedia storytelling, messaging,
content creation, and production
? Ability to quickly assess unforeseen situations, use sound and thoughtful judgment to
make decisions and problem-solve
? Excellent written and verbal communication skills and demonstrated soft skills
? Excellent collaboration and relationship-building skills, ability to build trust
? Sound judgment and commitment to confidentiality
? Experience with website software and design

? Excellent follow through and ability to meet deadlines
? Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
? Graphic design experience with Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and video editing
programs like iMovie
? Proficiency in Google Tools
? Photography and videography experience
