Line of Authority: The Director of Finance/Controller reports to the Chief Financial & Operating Officer and is staff liaison to the Audit & Risk Management Committee of the Board of Trustees. The Business Office Manager reports to the Director of Finance/Controller.
General Purpose and Function: The Director of Finance/Controller is responsible for all aspects of the quality of the accounting and financial reporting of the School. This includes implementing and monitoring internal controls, policies, and procedures. Has the option to work remotely, in the office or a hybrid combination.
Supervise the Business Office Manager.
Prepare, analyze, monitor and present operating budget and long range financial models to stakeholders
Monitor and systemize collection efforts for student account balances, including tuition and other fees charged, in Blackbaud’s Smart Tuition system.
Oversee the accounts payable process, including verification of proper supporting documentation, appropriate signatures of approval and accurate expense coding on invoices and check requests
Administer and supervise School procurement cards for purchasing
Prepare monthly investment reconciliations, bank reconciliations and monthly close processes
Maintain general ledger chart of accounts
Reconcile gifts (monthly) by fund with the Advancement Office
Prepare & Review semi-monthly payroll and year-end tax reporting
