Tyler Community College is a two-year, public institution of higher education and the fifth largest of the 23 community colleges in Virginia.Â John Tyler Community College adds value to the greater Richmond community by offering freshman- and sophomore-level classes that easily transfer to top-notch colleges and universities, more than 60 in-demand career and technical programs, personal enrichment and professional development classes for lifetime learning, professors committed to excellence in teaching, and high-quality, easily accessible, and affordable education for our entire community.In accordance with the Commonwealth of Virginia, VCCS, JTCC and ARMICS policies and procedures the manager organizes, designs, sets up, validates and reviews for modification as required in the VCCS Student Information System (SIS) student financial implementation processes and sub-systems.Â Works with VCCS to modify PeopleSoft software and associated set up as required to meet College, Federal and Commonwealth requirements.Â Manages collection of student accounts in coordination with internal and external agencies.Â Manages student tuition installment payment plans, student refund process, student debt collection as well as various other student financial operations.Â Supervises the process verification and oversight of Campus Cashier Offices and deposits other business procedures and reports.
Working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and practices.Â Ability to utilize technology to support the delivery of student related financial services. Ability to interpret policies, analyze and solve problems.Â Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing and to train supporting staff. Demonstrated experience in a high-volume customer service environment required.Â Working experience with internal and external business customers.Â Ability to analyze software to recommend system enhancements and to project future operational needs.Â Successful completion and passing of a criminal background check will be required. High School diploma required.Â
