Under the leadership of the Vice President for Institutional Advancement (VPIA), the Director of Annual Giving will implement and manage a strategic plan for Mid-Pacific Institute’s annual giving and parent relations programs to generate private support to the campus through reunion, telemarketing, direct mail, and e-philanthropy, as well as, in concert with the VPIA, create and manage a robust parent relations program. The Director will evaluate programming for increased gifts at lower levels to upgrade donors to new gift club levels, plan for development and implementation of comprehensive unrestricted annual giving programs, and execute and evaluate annual giving solicitations. The Director will direct MPI's annual giving activities and programs to ensure appropriate cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies are implemented and that fundraising goals are met.
Additionally, the Director will design, execute, and implement a strategic plan for long term development of Mid-Pacific Institute’s relations with parents, grandparents, and alumni collaborating closely with the VPIA, Director of Development and Strategic Partnerships, Director of Alumni Relations, and officers and members of the Na Ohana Pueo (NOP).
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college.
A minimum of three years of progressively responsible development experience in not for profit or private sector fundraising, including a strong documented record of gift solicitation in annual gifts.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Outstanding organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
Ability to synthesize data to communicate project results to donors.
Team player with ability to gain trust and confidence with colleagues and constituents from diverse cultural backgrounds.
Self-directed and motivated and able to work in a fast-paced environment while producing high-quality work in a timely manner.
Strong knowledge of Google Drive, Raiser's Edge, and experience with prospect research tools.
Proven management and organizational abilities to plan and independently execute projects/tasks within specific deadlines, and while exercising good judgment successfully assess, balance, and prioritize numerous competing concerns.
Demonstrated substantial experience in successfully coordinating and overseeing large scale campus-wide events.
Experience leading and motivating campus partners outside of the organization to create successful partnerships, programs, and initiatives.
Excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills to include proven effectiveness in speaking on a one-on-one basis and making oral presentations before groups.
Ability to represent the Office of Institutional Advancement to senior leaders of Mid-Pacific, prospective students, their parents, and the community.
Knowledge of national trends, current issues, including health and wellness, and best practices in higher education, especially those involving parents.
Experience working with diverse students, families, and communities.
Familiar with advancement principles and supportive of strengthening philanthropy in parents.
