Woodlands Academy is seeking a part-time Finance & Development Coordinator to work 3-4 days per week. The Finance & Development Coordinator will report to and work closely with the Chief Finance & Resource Officer, and join a highly collaborative, innovative, and experienced staff. This role will have exposure and interaction with all departments within Woodlands Academy.
The Finance & Development Coordinator is responsible for maintaining the financial and development accounting systems and processes of the school. Attention to detail and time management are essential to success in this position. This position requires strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse community while maintaining appropriate confidentiality.
Specific responsibilities include:
Accounts Receivable: Oversee and maintain accounts receivable; correspond with families on balances due; coordinate with Admissions for all tuition billing.
Accounts Payable: Oversee and maintain bill payments in timely fashion; maintain vendor database.
Development: Coordinate with Development Office; perform all gift processing, acknowledging, and receipting activities, ensuring all gifts are acknowledged in a timely and accurate manner; oversees all donor records including maintenance, quality assurance, and tracking; provide accurate, timely reporting and support to Development staff.
Payroll: Process semi-monthly payroll; maintain all records associated with payroll.
Monthly Close & Reporting: complete end-of-month closing in a timely fashion; generate monthly reports for various departments.
Banking: Record deposits and online payments; reconcile bank statements.
Audit: Assist CFRO in annual external audit.
Support: Initiative, creativity, sound judgment, collaborative spirit, and enthusiasm are vital assets.
Education and Professional Experience:
Education: BA/BS in business or accounting a plus, but not required
Experience: Minimum of 5 years bookkeeping/accounting experience
Required Skills: Strong computer skills: Financial management software, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
Preferred Skills: Familiarity with Blackbaud/Raiser’s Edge/Financial Edge a plus
