Under general direction of the Vice President for Access, Diversity, and Inclusion, the Budget Administrator will serve as the financial advisor for the Division of Access, Diversity and Inclusion with responsibility for coordination of budget preparation, financial planning and modeling, financial analysis to improve operation efficiency, and long-term capital budgeting.
1. Oversees the financial activities of the division, which include budget preparation and reports, business planning and management, and compliance with university policies and procedures with state and federal regulations 2. Coordinates the administrative and business processes for the division to include development of policy and procedures as it relates to university processes. 3. Responsible for the coordination of the division's annual-budget processes, including communications planning, preparation, securing appropriate approvals, and submission to the budget office. 4. Coordinates financial aspects of research proposals, contracts, and sub contracts, including the development of budget, proposal preparation, and adherence to funding requirements; serves as a liaison with university administrators, as well as, state and federal government. 5. Advises on matters related to policies and procedures regarding fiscal management to ensure the business interests of the divisions are advanced. 6. Develops and implements systems to maintain records on employees, equipment inventories, and compliance activities. 7. Reconciles and monitors account balances 8. Participates in the development of grants and contract budgets. Works with Pis to be sure grant parameters are followed, including necessary reporting. 9. Serves as a liaison between the Vice President for Access, Diversity and Inclusion and units in the division and with other divisions regarding fiscal and business affairs. 10, Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree Business Administration, Accounting, or related field
1 year directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
1. Master's Degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related field 2. Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
1. Skill in budget management 2. Knowledge of procurement and finance policies 3. Knowledge of grant application and reporting procedures 4. Knowledge and understanding of business management principles and practices 5. Knowledge and experience in audit procedures 6. Ability to lead high initiatives from conception to implementation 7. Demonstrated strong commitment to enhancing diversity and inclusion understanding
Working Conditions and Physical Effort
1.No unusual physical requirements. Requires limited lifting of files and records and nearly all work is performed in a comfortable indoor facility 2.Frequent- External imposed deadlines; set and revised beyond one's control; interruptions influence priorities; difficulty to anticipate nature or volume of work with certainty beyond a few days; meeting of deadlines and coordination of unrelated activities are key to position; involves conflict-resolution or similar interactions involving emotion issues or stress on a regular basis
