Headwaters School, a Pre-K through grade 12 independent day school serving 450 students across its three campuses in Austin, TX, is seeking a full time Annual Fund Manager for the 2021-2022 academic year. The Annual Fund Manager reports directly to our Senior Director of Finance and Advancement. Job Summary: The Annual Fund Manager is part of the highly visible and fast-paced Finance and Advancement Office, and the individual in this position plays a significant role in supporting the growth of Headwaters School. This role is responsible for efficiently and persuasively communicating across a variety of media and will also oversee data management aspects of annual giving. The Annual Fund Manager must be analytical, service-oriented and detail-oriented, and have the ability to be flexible and multi-task in an ever-changing environment. It is essential for the Annual Fund Manager to effectively interact with and serve a variety of constituents, including parents, students, volunteers, faculty, staff, board members and potential donors. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills are essential. Computer proficiency, particularly in working with database programs, is required. Bachelor’s degree required and fluency in Spanish is preferred. 3+ years fundraising experience, preferably in an educational institution. Essential Job Duties: - Leads and executes the school’s annual fund plan utilizing a comprehensive strategy to meet goals.
- Serves as the main point of contact in most annual fund inquiries in person, by phone, and through email.
- Write, design and work with others to produce written materials for the Annual Fund, including letters, emails, brochures and social media campaigns.
- Cultivate relationships to identify and strengthen annual fund donors.
- Prepares and mails correspondence including but not limited to gift acknowledgments, general appeals, solicitations and drafts correspondence as requested.
- Works closely with the Advancement Team and others to streamline fundraising efforts and collaborate on a variety of projects to advance the purpose, promise and PACT of the school.
- Manage databases and online giving platforms, and prepare reports and presentations for various committees and key stakeholders.
- Plan and organize school fundraising events and provide on-site event support, as assigned.
- Reconcile financials with the Business Office
- Provide audit and 990 support.
- Other duties as assigned by the Senior Director of Finance and Advancement or Head of School.
