The New School is seeking a dynamic, student-centered Spanish teacher to work with Upper School students for the 2021-2022 school year. Spanish instruction aims to assist students with language acquisition as well as an introduction to culture. Through consistent exposure to the language, students should develop written and oral Spanish language skills as well a greater depth of knowledge of Spanish-speaking cultures.

The Spanish Teacher will be part of a team of specialists who support students across multiple grade levels. Provide daily instruction for students
Collaborate with fellow teachers on curriculum development
Collaborate with teachers to foster a learning environment matching the specific educational objectives set by the administration and the grade-level teams
Communicate with parents, faculty, and support staff regarding students’ educational performance
Attend and help organize parent-teacher conferences and school events as needed
Support the School, its mission, and its leadership
Additional responsibilities as deemed necessary by the administration
Bachelor’s degree in Spanish or education. (Master’s degree preferred)
Preferred: An equivalent of two years of experience teaching Spanish, preferably in a private school setting
A passion for and experience with integrating technology into the curriculum to serve the needs of all learners
A demonstrated eagerness to grow professionally and remain current within the field
