Job Title: Distance Education Lower School Learning Support (Grades K-4)
Reports To: Curriculum and Instruction Specialist

Schedule: 10 Months - one year temporary position

The Alexander Dawson School at Rainbow Mountain – a co-educational, independent school with approximately 500 students in grades preschool through grade eight – is seeking learning support team members for the 2020-2021 school year. Located in beautiful Summerlin near the entrance to Red Rock Natural Preserve and about 20 minutes from downtown Las Vegas, Alexander Dawson’s education reflects its Core Beliefs.
The Alexander Dawson School is seeking passionate educators and aspiring educators to assist faculty in creating and implementing distance learning courses. The ideal candidate will be someone who can collaborate with students and staff to translate the world-renowned Dawson education into a virtual environment. The candidate will demonstrate the strong social-emotional skills necessary to support our students and families who are learning on our online platform.

Implementing instructional strategies that stimulate learning and increase student engagement.
Work with the Dawson faculty and students to meet institutional goals through effective implementation of distance education instruction.
Assist faculty and others with the utilization of the school’s online course management system (CANVAS and G Suite)
Oversee and maintain the distance education courses online
Collaborating with parents and colleagues to manage course goals, curriculum, and materials that enhance the learning experience
Assist teachers in creating a virtual environment conducive to learning
Lead students through successful course completion
Actively participating in Professional Learning Communities (or professional development)
Hosting live synchronous sessions that promote a positive learning environment which include (tutoring and recording teacher lessons to put on the LMS)
Prioritize student needs so that each child may reach their fullest potential
Analyzing student data to prescribe remediation and enrichment as needed
Ability to work and create in an online environment
Ability and/or willingness to learn how to utilize web cameras and computers to produce online learning modules
Work Hours:7:30 am – 4:00 pm, Monday to Friday (Up to 28 hours a week)
