This position reports to the Director, Student Success Administration, and serves as an integral member of the VPSS Leadership Team. Position provides leadership, professional guidance, and management of all financial and administrative processes for the VPSS Division, including the development, implementation and oversight of all unit budgets across VPSS, which are: Vice Provost for Student Success; Assistant Vice Provost for New Student Experience (Office of First year Programs and Director of New Student Orientation); Associate Vice Provost for Advising & Academic Engagement (Academic Success Center, Diversity Programming, TRiO, UT Lead, Tutoring, Veteran's Center, Campus Advising and Career Development); Associate Vice provost and Director of Honors Programs (Honors Programs, Undergraduate Research, Office of National Scholarships and Fellowships). Position has oversight of budgets, financial operations and human resources activities for all areas reporting to the Vice Provost, leads finance and accounting, financial planning, budgeting, human resource management, and business operations. Will work closely with the Director of Academic Finance in the Provost Office, and with Budget Director in Enrollment Management. Position will provide guidance and expert advice to the Director of Student Success Administration in formulating strategic plans and priorities. Duties include financial modeling, forecasting, and developing and disseminating data to inform decision making across the Division of Student Success. Position is responsible for ensuring division-wide adherence to university HR and fiscal policies.
Duties/Responsibilities: Oversee all budget, financial, and HR processes for the Division of Student Success. Budget oversight includes leadership and accountability of a total budget of approximately $9.2 million. Establish goals, objectives and procedures related to the fiscal operations of the division. Evaluate long-term impact of planning and decisions. Oversight of training, account reconciliation, and auditing of all division accounts. Develop an "all funds budget" across multiple units and initiatives, including multi-channeled and complex funding sources (application fees, event fees, confirmation fees, transcript fees, veteran fees, grants, and gifts) to ensure appropriate and strategic utilization of funds. Generate financial reports, address and respond to outside inquires (including those of auditors), monitor Division financial activity, and make recommendations on an ongoing basis. Ensure Division wide adherence to university fiscal policies. Approve all financial transactions including budget revisions, funds transfers, funds commitments, reallocations, expenditures, fund centers, cost center and WBS account creation. Act as liaison for the VPSS to the Director of Academic Finance in the Provost Office, and with the Budget Director of Enrollment Management.
Manage post-award grant accounting and reporting for Undergraduate Research. Manage gifts and financial aid grants in departments such as Honors Programs, Career Development, First Year Studies, Student Success Center, TRiO, and Office of National Scholarships and Fellowships.
Provide forecasting and long-range planning guidance to the Vice Provost for Student Success, working in coordination with Enrollment Management, Office of Research, Office of the Provost, and the Budget & Finance Office. Develop reports and presentations in support of those efforts.
Manage the HR functions of the Division of Student Success. Monitor and enforce compliance with campus and university human resource policies and procedures. Act as primary point of contact with the Office of Human Resources for the Division of Student Success.
