Position Summary Eagle Hill School, a private, co-educational school for students in grades 8-12 identified with learning (dis)abilities, is seeking an experienced leader to serve as Chief Financial Officer. The CFO’s primary responsibility is to manage all aspects of the school’s financial management and accounting functions. Further responsibilities include enterprise risk management, compliance with federal and state regulations, preparation of the annual budget, and financial reporting. The CFO will report to the Head of School and work in close collaboration with the Board of Trustees.

Ensure the school’s financial stability by developing, implementing and monitoring effective systems of financial control and decision-making.
Steward the school’s resources effectively and, by applying sound business principles, improve its operating efficiency.
Oversee the preparation and communication of financial statements for the Head of School and Board of Directors.
Lead the annual budgeting process to ensure a high degree of financial literacy among all senior staff and department chairs.
Remain knowledgeable of emerging trends and their potential impact on the school’s future.
Oversee other specific responsibilities including enterprise risk management, employee salaries and benefits, compliance with federal and state regulations, preparation of the annual budget.
Oversee and implement appropriate safety programs, collaborating and coordinating with all relevant stakeholders.
Manage external technology vendors related to cloud services and telecommunications.
Oversee coordination and activities of independent auditors for both annual financial statements and retirement plans.
Attend and support Board and Finance Committee meetings.
Work in close collaboration with the Development office to ensure effective communication and controls.
Oversee administrative services including facilities, campus bookstore, and in-house dining services.
An MBA, CPA or CMA is strongly preferred.
Minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible senior management experience in a complex, preferably academic, environment is required.
Comprehensive knowledge of accounting, reimbursement, financial compliance, cash management, contracting, purchasing, enterprise risk management, and investing.
Proven ability to develop a financial strategy and provide vital business insights.
Strong business acumen and a demonstrated ability to manage teams and vendor relationships.
Outstanding oral and written communication and an ability to present data and ideas effectively to various constituencies.
High degree of computer literacy with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), accounting, and fundraising software. Extensive experience with cloud-based software. Familiarity with Sage Intacct financial systems preferred.
