ABOUT THE POSITION
DKJA is seeking a full-time Director of Admissions to manage the recruitment, enrollment, and retention of students. Major responsibilities include developing a strategic admissions plan, marketing and presenting the school to prospective students and parents, systematic and efficient handling of applications and communication with families; tours of the school; arrangements for admissions testing; securing of necessary student testing; and communicating final decisions to the appropriate individuals. The Director of Admissions works closely with the Head of School and is a member of the school’s Senior Administrative Team.
RESPONSIBILITIES and DUTIES
Design and implement a comprehensive strategic plan of admissions of new students to the school. Manage the various points of initial contact including admissions portal on website, email, and phone. Direct the admissions process from point of inquiry through enrollment, which includes tours, applications, interviews, testing, prior school reports, and communicating final decisions. Develop appropriate admissions and marketing materials, ads, mailings, websites, social media and publications that communicate the school to prospective families. Identify new areas of recruitment, plan parlor meetings and attend external school fairs. Initiate and create activities intended to interest prospective families in sending students to the school. Cultivate and maintain relationships with feeder schools, synagogues and local Jewish communal organizations that can be helpful in attracting families. Recruit, train and manage parent and student ambassadors. Understand the demographics of the feeder communities specifically the entry of new families. Manage the re-enrollment of current students and develop strategies to achieve maximum retention. Keep relevant statistics on all aspects of the admissions and re-enrollment program. Represent the school at various gatherings and conferences related to admissions. Perform other duties as assigned.
