This technology department team member focuses on maintaining campus workflow. They are responsible for analyzing problems and implementing solutions which support building technology needs, ensuring such are met.
The School Technology Specialist reports to the Director of Technology
Answer technical questions for the community (staff, students, teachers)
Analyze problems, develop, present and implement solutions
Respond to problems as they occur during active classroom activity in BYOD environment
Installation and deployment of hardware and software
Management of network deployment systems
Training and management for cyber security prevention including proper system updates
Investigation and response to issues with print systems, deployment, Google suite, Chrome OS, and Active Directory
Structure and enhance growth in systems (print, deployment, G Suite, OS, AD, +)
Investigate and remedy configuration issues in firewall and wireless systems
Maintenance of network (LAN and WAN)
Backup team members with AV and network functions
Manage break/fix with various vendors
Respond to requests for special events
Responsible for customer care and satisfaction

Technical understanding and advanced knowledge of PC, Mac and Chrome OS, MS systems, G-suite, MS365, basic networking, and current application packages
Work on assignments to completion
Able to prioritize and demonstrate follow-through
Able to work as a team when necessary
Proficiency in communication, working with a variety of people, personality types, multiple demands, as well as writing and organization
Associate’s [Bachelor preferred] degree in a computer or related field
Experience with computer applications, troubleshooting, networking, and support of constituent
Physical Requirements / Minimum Qualifications:
Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull 40 pounds independently
Ability to operate, maneuver, and control the actions of equipment, tools (including basic use of hand tools and small/medium power tools), and materials used in performing essential functions
Ability to bend and crawl under and behind desks to run, attach, and plug in cables
Comfortable and steady on an 8-foot ladder
Ability to work in environments with some adverse conditions, including dirt, dust, pollen, odors, sun, wetness, humidity, fumes, temperatures, noise, machinery vibrations
Ability to sit for prolonged periods at a desk and/or working on a computer, physical use of keyboard, mouse and monitor.
Able to work full-time, flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and special events
A background and fingerprint report will be conducted and submitted to State authorities as required by law for all personnel working within a school environment. Must be willing to undergo Catholic Diocese VIRTUS certification.
