The Hun School seeks an energetic and creative, professional to support and enhance a broad range of communications and marketing strategies. The associate will have a skill set that includes writing, editing, and photography. The associate works collaboratively with members of the Marketing and Communications Office and reports to the director of strategic marketing and communications. Ability to work beyond and outside the typical workday, including after hours, on weekends, and during holidays in order to meet the needs of the Communications and Marketing Office and the School.
Pitch, research, and write news and marketing content for The Hun School;
Serve as the School’s lead photographer;
Co-manage a team of student photographers;
Direct professional photo shoots;
Work with team to manage the School’s visual assets;
Pitch, research, and write press releases on behalf of The Hun School;
Identify and coordinate communications strategy for key media contacts;
Coordinate press interviews, prepare briefing materials, speaking points, and media kits;
Monitor, catalogue, and archive media coverage;
Maintain the School’s Style Guide, proofread materials for adherence to the guide;
Coordinate production of print materials, as assigned;
Complete additional tasks as assigned by the Director of Strategic Marketing and Communications;
Support various school events and projects as needed.
In addition to experience in a related role and environment, the successful candidate will possess:
Bachelor’s degree in communications or related field;
Excellent photography skills;
Fluent in the latest technology and software pertinent to the role;
Experience in the field of communications or marketing;
Excellent writing, proofreading, and editing skills required;
Organized and proven commitment to deadlines;
Ability to work efficiently in a fun, high-energy, deadline-driven environment;
A collaborative, trust-based work style with a high level of personal and professional integrity;
Personal qualities including resilience, approachability, and kindness;
Ability to work in busy, highly trafficked office;
All employees must be fingerprinted and pass a full criminal history background check.
This position is full-time, twelve (12) months per year, exempt from overtime, and eligible for all benefits afforded to full-time Hun School employees. The working environment is an office and school environment on a hilly 45-acre campus in Princeton, New Jersey. The abilities to occasionally lift files and storage boxes, walk up and downstairs, attend meetings in varying locations throughout campus, and continually use computers and related office equipment are required. Not all buildings on campus have elevators.
