The IUSM Department of Pediatrics is seeking a Division Administrator/Business Manager. This position will serve as the top administrative person for the academic and administrative operations for multiple divisions. In addition, this position will be responsible for administering various aspects of academic pediatrics such as the administration of department and school academic programs, day-to-day operations of the financial, research, and clinical research functions.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
Serve as Fiscal Officer for assigned division accounts and will be responsible for non-clinical financial operations of the section. Works independently identify problems and implement solutions to ensure sound financial status. Oversee the development of management reports, with accountability to School and Department leadership for fiscal compliance, adherence to University financial policies and procedures.
Responsible for administration of grants including proposal submission, post-award accounting and effort certification. Oversight of research administration and clinical trial infrastructure of these divisions. Establish and maintain relationships with internal and external organizations in the research area. Comply with university and sponsor policies with respect to cost calculations, appropriateness, and reasonableness. Review awarded budgets and assign personnel to new grant accounts.
Manage personnel of the division to include recruitment, hiring, training, and overseeing work assuring that guidelines and reporting requirements of the programs are met. Ensure that directives assigned by the leadership are met conduct/coordinate performance evaluations and manage competency of all academic staff.
Participate in departmental initiatives and work with other division fiscal officers to develop projects, training modules that can benefit all staff in the department.
Oversee all purchasing activity for the section to include research equipment and supplies, office supplies and furniture for any academic areas.
Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
REQUIRED: Bachelor's degree and three years of experience in management, business, research/academic administration, or healthcare administration.

Excellent interpersonal skills and a customer service orientation. Ability to effectively communicate and exchange information with a wide variety of individuals within a diverse environment. Strong organizational and multitasking skills including the ability to manage multiple priorities.
