Provide fiscal and administrative support, and serve as fiscal officer delegate. Primary duties and responsibilities include:
Initiate business functions for purchasing, accounts payable and other operational needs as assigned by the fiscal officer. Serves as a delegate fiscal officer for all departmental accounts.
Assists fiscal officer with financial management functions of the department. Coordinates internal controls activities for the department under supervision of the fiscal officer. Provides support to the department, as needed, for transaction processing in compliance with university and department policies and procedures.
Prepare pre-award budgets, assist with proposal submissions, consult with PI's, monitor compliance post award, act in the primary delegate approver role in KFS. Follow up with all necessary actions to insure a timely response.
Assist FO in monitoring accounts and post award activity (including subcontracts) in the department. Coordinate/prepare progress reports to insure agency reporting and compliance. Assist FO to monitor financial reporting, closeout and reporting of sponsored project accounts. Help resolve issues that are elevated by team members. Help conduct ongoing audits to insure the financial integrity of all accounts to insure compliance with ever-changing rules and rule interpretations by auditors.
Provide expertise related to Material Transfer Agreements, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
Assist FO with the production of customized reports, monitoring metrics to illustrate department activity, productivity and financial stability.
Act as the primary delegate to the fiscal officer and act in that role during absences. Perform all functions incidental to the work described herein.

REQUIRED: Bachelor's Degree in related field from an accredited institution and two years of related/pertinent experience.
Combinations of related education and experience may be considered.
Knowledge of fiscal management, accounting, financial reporting and grant processes. Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills and be able to prioritize various projects with daily operational duties and complete all projects on schedule with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel. Able to work independently and be an effective team member.
Knowledge and skills with the IU systems, including but not limited to: Purchasing, HRMS, Travel, and financial systems.
