The Student Life department at the University of Pittsburgh is seeking a qualified Business Manager. The Business Manager will administer approximately 600+ student organization accounts with about $3,000,000 in funds through transactions initiated by student officers.
This position also: - Posts annual budgets and closes accounts at year-end - Authorizes all transactions, posts and processes them through University business offices, resolves problems and reconciles proprietary account database with monthly University level reports - Keeps accurate and up to date records and produces account reports as requested - Posts supplemental allocations and budget modifications - Makes purchases and receives deliveries - Interprets and enforces policy and procedure - Trains student leaders and student staff regarding business practices - Assists the SORC coordinator with the delivery of SORC services - Supervises student staff, registration of student organizations and the organization database, the Student Activities Fair and the delivery of concession and program support services
This position requires periodic evening and weekend duties.
Bachelor's degree with emphasis on business and bookkeeping practice. Efficiency in financial database software applications, ability to interpret and enforce policy and procedure, ability to multi-task effectively, strong time management skills, capable of working without direct supervision, strong customer service skills, detail-oriented, works well with college students, capable of working effectively with routine interruptions in open workspace environment. Experience with Oracle based Financial Systems, budgeting and management required.
