Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Business Manager III Supervisor for The Division of Institutional Planning & Operations (IP&O). This position reports to and is under the general guidance of the Associate Director- Capital Projects. The Business Manager III Supervisor provides accounting, building trades timekeeping, business services and customer support on behalf of Facilities Contract Service operations. Other university constituencies (legal, internal audit, Controller’s Office) are supported primarily through information requests.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Responsible for major building renovation and utility infrastructure accounting.
As a first level supervisor, the Business Manager routinely directs and manages accounting staff responsibilities.
Develops requisitions and purchase orders for contractors, suppliers and consultants.
Oversees construction invoice processing, building trades -time sheet management, fringe benefit cost allocations and disbursement.
Maintains project budget preparation, project budget control/oversight revenue collection, general cost accounting, management reporting and auditing.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Requires a bachelor's degree, in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates comprehensive knowledge and understanding of general accounting principles and practices.
A minimum of five years experience in a leadership/managerial role in business, finance, or accounting function.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Prior work experience with AIM and PeopleSoft required.
Must have hands-on demonstrated work experience at the supervisory level for construction related accounting functions and construction expense reporting using various software products related to the construction industry.
Knowledge of construction documentation filing procedures, i.e. contracts, procurement forms, change orders, correspondence is necessary.
Must possess a thorough knowledge of Plant Fund Accounting.
Must be receptive and proactive in using university Oracle based accounting software applications.
Proficient using AIMCPPM software
Possess a solid working knowledge of SciQuest procurement software plus Oracle based accounting/financial software applications in use at Rutgers.
A valid Driver’s License and personal vehicle is preferred, as this location is not accessible by public transportation.
Must be proficient in using Microsoft Windows software products, demonstrated expertise in Microsoft Office Suite
Experience in using Excel audit techniques and macro linking/pivot tables
Desk top PC computer hardware, copiers and document scanning equipment.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Must be capable of using IT desk top hardware.
May be required to transfer boxed documents, office furnishings on occasion, less than 50 pounds.
