The Shipley School, a Pre-K through twelfth grade co-educational day school in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, seeks a dynamic Associate Director of Admission to join a team of eight enrollment professionals. The Associate Director will participate in a highly collaborative environment dedicated to the recruitment and enrollment of diverse and qualified students in the given Division who are best served by Shipley’s mission dedicated to a rigorous academic program and commitment to developing in each student a love of learning and compassionate participation in the world.
The Associate Director of Admissions and Director of Tuition Assistance is responsible for guiding prospective families through the admissions process as well as managing the process and allocation of tuition assistance for families PK-12. The successful candidate will have the proven ability to manage a tuition assistance budget; build relationships with families as they navigate the admissions and tuition assistance processes; work collaboratively with peers in the admissions office and throughout the school; be strategic in thinking about enrollment and tuition assistance.
Develop an understanding of Shipley’s academic, athletic and arts programs as well as the school’s commitment to positive education.
Lead tuition assistance/student financial assistance efforts in coordination with Finance, Development, and other student services departments.
Read tuition assistance applications and determine grants.
Guide families and students through the process of applying for tuition assistance. Coordinate conversations with parents to obtain information required to determine eligibility for aid.
Track and share data regarding tuition assistance with the Tuition Assistance Committee, Head of School and Board of Trustees.
Assist the Director of Enrollment Management in supporting the recruitment of a strong admissions pool for the school.
Guide prospective families through the admissions process.
Record admissions activity in the admissions office database.
Help plan and attend all admissions events.
Follow up on admissions decisions and welcome new families to Shipley.
Dependent on strengths and skill-set, be open to possible involvement in other areas of school life
The minimum educational requirement for this position is a bachelor's degree, although a post-baccalaureate degree is preferred.
The successful candidate will be self-motivated, innovative and generative, have excellent communication and leadership skills, outstanding interpersonal abilities, a sense of humor and an interest in professional growth.
Experience in a related position
Experience working in School and Student Services (SSS) and Blackbaud, recommended
The Associate Director of Admissions and Director of Tuition Assistance must have excellent interpersonal, communication, time-management, and event-coordinating skills.
The Associate Director of Admissions and Director of Tuition Assistance works full time, spending a portion of their time in an office setting on campus. However, travel may often be required to staff events and visit prospective students and other schools. Hours may vary for this position depending on the events and needs of the school and will at times include nights and weekends.
