This is an opportunity for someone that has a solid business operations background in areas such as managing payroll, purchasing, accounts payable, foundation services, internal controls and customer service. These services are vital to the School to ensure efficient and accurate financial processing and appropriate management of resources.
The individual in this position will take a proactive approach in:
Directing interactions with the Indiana University Foundation (IUF) by serving as the principle point of contact for managing gift and endowment accounts. Developing mechanisms for routine review of all IUSMIUF accounts to minimize dormancy of accounts, properly utilize accounts per donor intent and collaborate with departments to ensure funds are appropriately invested to maximize earnings potential based on projected needs.
Managing purchasing, accounts payable, travel, and other operational needs for business units within the Dean's Office as assigned by the Associate Director.
Facilitating the development and execution of training sessions on fiscal topics for Schoolwide presentation.
Coordinating internal controls activities for IUSM under supervision of Associate Director by developing standardized procedures and efficient processes while maintaining compliance with various rules and regulations.
REQUIRED: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution in business administration, accounting, finance, or related field, plus 3 years of related experience in accounting, finance, and business administration.
The successful candidate will have the ability to interpret and present financial information to financial and non-financial users. Will possess a demonstrated track record of strong financial, analytic and problem solving capabilities with the ability to see the broader implications of key decisions. Will possess an approachable service-oriented demeanor, the ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships, and communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization both verbally and in writing.
Experience in internal controls, cash handling, AP/AR, budgeting, and policy and procedure development.
Working Conditions/Physical Demands:
Remaining in a stationary position for long periods of time and operate a personal computer, conduct phone conversations, review financial information and documents in both paper and electronic form. Navigate campus as needed.
