The Business Manager for the Center for Industrial Services (CIS) serveson the Center's senior leadership team, reporting to the Executive Director. CIS helps companies andcommunities succeed, grow and create high quality jobs by providing consulting,training and connecting services across the state. The Business Manager providesleadership for all CIS administrative operations that include, but not limitedto, budgeting, financial management, human resources, information technology,and training registration.
The business manager is responsible forensuring effective performance of CIS financial functions; managing businessrelationships with funding agencies, vendors, and other university departments;developing and communicating financial reports to CIS and Institute for PublicService (IPS) leaders; ensuring compliance with University and state federalregulations and procedures; and, overseeing CIS contractual, accountsreceivable, accounts payable processes and other activities to ensure CIS andprogram success.
The business manager contributes to CISplanning, strategy development, and decisions and represents CIS at Universityand IPS meetings. The position also leads continuous improvement initiativesfor office and administrative processes
Responsibilities also include managementof budgeting, financial management, human resources, information technology,and training registration activities with an administrative staff of two exemptand seven non-exempt staff persons.
